  • If weather conditions are unsafe, you’ll be contacted and classes will be rescheduled.
  • For comfort, wear a swimsuit with shorts or tights and a rash guard.

  • Please meet us by the Paddling Centre 10 minutes early

  • Round 2: Tuesdays July 28, Aug 4, 11, 18

Cost $100 (+$20 annual membership)

Give your teen an introduction to kayaking—an engaging program that builds on-water confidence, technical skill, and a strong foundation in safety. The Youth Kayaking Intro Program combines structured instruction with active practice, creating a positive and motivating environment for youth who are ready to learn and take on a new challenge.

Participants begin with essential safety training, including what to do in the event of a capsize. From there, instructors teach core paddling strokes, boat control, balance, and efficient maneuvering through progressive coaching, skill-focused drills, and supervised games designed to reinforce technique.

What Participants Gain

·       Hands-on instruction in youth-specific kayaks designed for responsive handling

·       A small group setting (maximum 10 participants) for individualized coaching

·       Improved strength, coordination, confidence, and on-water decision-making

·       A strong foundation for outdoor recreation, fitness, or future paddling programs

Safety and Supervision

·       All kayaks and required safety equipment are provided

·       Instruction and on-water activities are closely supervised by qualified instructors

·       Progressive, skill-based teaching with safety reinforced throughout

·       Weather monitoring and timely communication if rescheduling is required
